Premonitions, Precognitions and Their Powers

Premonition is the feeling you get about something that is going to happen, something unpleasant.

A premonition is different to a dream. A dream is something that you have normally and it is something that is a mix of your conscious and subconscious part of the brain whereas premonitions are different, they feel real and are in a chronological order, they are often about some incidents which are about to happen, something unpleasant.

There have been cases where people have had premonitions about something from their past or present life that ended up occurring in their near future. Premonitions may not always occur when one is sleeping, it may occur when one is awake.

Actually, in technical terms, the visions you have while sleeping are called precognitions whereas the ones you have while you are awake are called premonitions, in theory, both are similar except for the fact that one is while you are fully awake and the other when you are sleeping.

The process behind premonitions is associated with the genetics of some and the powerful brains of others, hence the statement that not everyone and anyone can have a premonition.

There have been scenarios of some of the world’s greatest leaders and famous people like Abraham Lincoln who had a dream that he was in the east wing of the White House and entered into a room of mourners who were surrounding a dead body, when he inquired about the dead body, they said that it was the president and a few days later, he died the same way.

Besides this, there have been premonitions about tragedies that came upon the world, like the 9/11 attacks, one of the soldiers was not feeling too well on the day and he even said that he had a feeling that he would not make it through the year 2001 and many victims had a premonition of their deaths in the tragedy.

The tragedies with Titanic, Japan tsunami/ earthquake or the shooting at the Sandy Hook elementary school are some of the other tragedies wherein people had premonitions.

However, with the progress in science and technology, people are still figuring out the vast capacity of a human brain, which is capable of doing so many unexplainable things.
